Golden Crispy French Toast Delight
Ingredients
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 8 slices of bread (preferably day-old)
- 4 tablespoons butter
Instructions
1. Prepare the Batter:
- In a large mixing bowl, crack the 4 large eggs and whisk until uniform in color.
- Gradually add 1 cup of whole milk, whisking continuously until well combined.
- Slowly sift in 1 cup of all-purpose flour, whisking gently to avoid clumps. The mixture should be smooth and slightly thick.
2. Preheat the Pan:
- Heat a large pan over medium heat for about 3 minutes. Add 1 tablespoon of butter, swirling the pan to coat evenly.
3. Dip the Bread:
- Take each slice of day-old bread and dip it into the egg-flour batter, ensuring it's fully coated on both sides. Allow excess to drip back into the bowl.
4. Pan Fry to Perfection:
- Carefully place the coated bread slices onto the preheated buttery pan. Do not overcrowd the pan; cook in batches if necessary.
- Fry each slice for approximately 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they turn golden brown and crispy.
- Once cooked, transfer the slices to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess butter.
5. Repeat and Serve:
- Repeat the pan-frying with the remaining bread slices, adding more butter to the pan as needed.
- Serve the golden crispy French toast immediately with desired toppings such as syrup, fresh fruit, or a dusting of powdered sugar.
