Golden Stove-Top Garlic Butter Deviled Eggs
Ingredients
- 6 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Boil the Eggs:
- Place the eggs in a medium saucepan and cover them with cold water by about an inch.
- Bring to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.
- Once boiling, cover the saucepan, remove it from the heat, and let the eggs sit for 10 minutes.
- Immediately transfer the eggs to a bowl filled with ice water. Let them cool for 5 minutes.
- Peel the eggs under running water to facilitate easy peeling.
2. Prepare the Garlic Butter Mixture:
- In a small skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for about 2 minutes until fragrant, but not burned. Remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.
3. Make the Deviled Egg Filling:
- Slice each egg in half lengthwise and remove the yolks carefully. Place yolks in a mixing bowl.
- Add mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, cooled garlic butter, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper to the yolks.
- Mash the ingredients together with a fork until smooth and creamy. Adjust the seasoning to taste.
4. Assemble the Deviled Eggs:
- Spoon or pipe the filling back into the egg whites.
- Garnish with freshly chopped chives for a touch of color and flavor.
5. Serve:
- Arrange the deviled eggs on a platter and sprinkle lightly with additional smoked paprika, if desired.
- Serve immediately as a delightful snack.
