Gourmet Olive Oil Pasta Delight
Ingredients
- 8 ounces of pasta (such as linguine or spaghetti)
- 3 tablespoons olive oil, plus extra for drizzling
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Instructions
1. Prepare Pasta:
- Bring a large pot of salt water to a boil over high heat.
- Add 8 ounces of pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente, approximately 8-10 minutes.
- Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta cooking water and then drain the pasta.
2. Prepare Sauce:
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add 3 tablespoons of olive oil.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
- Stir in red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
3. Combine:
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat.
- Add reserved pasta water a little at a time, as needed, to loosen the pasta and create a silky sauce.
- Stir in lemon juice and 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, tossing until the cheese is melted and the pasta is evenly coated.
4. Season and Serve:
- Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately, garnished with fresh basil leaves and an extra drizzle of olive oil.
