Gourmet Pan-Fried Turkey Ham and Sweet Potato Sandwich
Ingredients
- 8 slices seeded bread
- 8 slices turkey ham
- 2 cups roasted sweet potatoes, sliced
- 1 cup herbed stuffing
- 1/2 cup cranberry sauce
- 2 cups salad greens
- 1/2 cup gravy
- 1/4 cup Dijon mayo
Instructions
1. Prepare Ingredients:
- Slice the roasted sweet potatoes into even rounds about 1/4-inch thick. Set aside.
- In a small bowl, mix the Dijon mayo with a tablespoon of cranberry sauce to make a tangy spread.
2. Assemble Sandwiches:
- Lay out all 8 slices of seeded bread. Spread the Dijon cranberry mayo on one side of each slice.
- On 4 slices of bread, layer the following:
- 1/2 cup salad greens
- 2 slices of turkey ham
- 1/2 cup roasted sweet potatoes
- 1/4 cup herbed stuffing
- A drizzle of gravy
- Top each assembled sandwich half with the remaining bread slices, spread side down.
3. Pan Fry the Sandwiches:
- Preheat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Carefully place each sandwich in the skillet and cook for about 3-5 minutes per side, pressing down gently with a spatula, until the bread is golden brown and crispy.
- Watch closely to prevent burning and adjust heat as necessary.
4. Serve:
- Remove the sandwiches from the skillet. Let them rest for a minute before slicing in half for easier handling.
- Serve hot, with a small side of cranberry sauce for dipping if desired.
