Grilled Citrus-Soy Glazed Salmon on Charcoal
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare the Marinade:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the lemon juice, olive oil, soy sauce, and paprika until well combined.
2. Marinate the Salmon:
Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and season both sides lightly with salt and pepper. Pour the marinade over the salmon, ensuring each piece is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour to let the flavors infuse.
3. Prepare the Charcoal Grill:
While the salmon is marinating, light your charcoal grill. Allow the coals to heat until they are covered with a light layer of ash, indicating they are ready for grilling. Spread the coals in an even layer to ensure an even cooking surface.
4. Grill the Salmon:
Remove the salmon from the marinade and place each fillet skin-side down on the grill. Ensure the grill grate is clean and lightly oiled to prevent sticking. Close the grill lid and cook the salmon for approximately 6-8 minutes per side, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F.
5. Finish and Serve:
Once cooked, remove the salmon fillets from the grill and let them rest for a couple of minutes. Serve the grilled salmon with a drizzle of the remaining marinade, if desired, for added flavor.
