Grilled Flank Steak with Balsamic Dijon Marinade



Ingredients



- 1/2 cup Balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons Country-style Dijon mustard
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Paprika
- 1/4 cup Olive oil
- 1 1/2 pounds Flank steak
- 1 teaspoon Kosher salt

Instructions



1. Prepare the Marinade:
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the balsamic vinegar, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, black pepper, and paprika. Slowly whisk in the olive oil to create a well-emulsified marinade.

2. Marinate the Steak:
Place the flank steak in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is fully coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish, and let the steak marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or for more intense flavor, up to 8 hours.

3. Preheat the Grill:
Prepare your charcoal grill by lighting the charcoal and allowing it to heat until covered with white ash, approximately 20 minutes. Spread the coals in an even layer across the bottom of the grill for even cooking. Clean and oil the grill grates.

4. Season and Grill the Steak:
Remove the steak from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Pat the steak dry with paper towels and season both sides with kosher salt. Place the steak on the grill over direct heat. Grill for 4-5 minutes per side for medium rare, or to your desired level of doneness.

5. Rest and Serve:
Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest on a cutting board for 10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute. Slice the steak thinly against the grain and serve immediately.
