Grilled Ginger-Lime Shrimp with Sesame and Cilantro Marinade



Ingredients



- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 2 green onions, finely sliced
- 1 lime, juiced
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon tamari
- 1 teaspoon fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon gochujang
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions



1. Prepare the Marinade:

- In a mixing bowl, combine grated ginger, minced garlic, chopped cilantro, and sliced green onions.
- Add lime juice, sesame oil, honey, soy sauce, tamari, fish sauce, gochujang, Dijon mustard, and sea salt. Mix well until all ingredients are fully integrated.

2. Marinate the Shrimp:

- Place the shrimp in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the shrimp, ensuring they are fully coated.
- Seal the bag or cover the dish, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld.

3. Prepare the Charcoal Grill:

- Light your charcoal and let it burn until the coals are covered with white ash, approximately 15 minutes for optimal grilling temperature.
- Arrange the hot coals evenly beneath the grill grate to ensure even cooking.

4. Grill the Shrimp:

- Remove shrimp from the marinade, allowing excess liquid to drip off. Discard any remaining marinade.
- Place shrimp directly on the hot grill. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, until the shrimp are opaque and lightly charred.
