Heavenly Ambrosia Delight with Toasted Pecans
Ingredients
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 cups miniature marshmallows
- 1 cup pineapple tidbits, drained
- 1 cup mandarin orange segments, drained
- 1 cup shredded sweetened coconut flakes
- 1/2 cup toasted pecans, chopped
- 1/2 cup maraschino cherries, stemmed and halved
Instructions
1. Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Whip Cream:
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and kosher salt. Using an electric mixer, whisk the cream until soft peaks form. This should take approximately 3 minutes.
3. Combine with Sour Cream:
Gently fold the sour cream into the whipped cream mixture, being careful not to deflate the whipped cream.
4. Mix Ingredients:
In a large bowl, combine the miniature marshmallows, pineapple tidbits, mandarin orange segments, shredded coconut flakes, toasted pecans, and maraschino cherries.
5. Blend Together:
Pour the whipped cream and sour cream mixture over the fruit and nut combination. Gently fold all ingredients together until evenly coated and mixed.
6. Chill Dessert:
Transfer the mixture into a serving dish, cover, and place in the refrigerator. Allow to chill for at least PT2H (2 hours) to help the flavors meld and firm up the dessert.
