Heavenly Potato Dumplings in Tomato Mozzarella Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 lb potato dumplings
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
1. Prepare the Ingredients
Start by gathering all your ingredients. Ensure the potato dumplings are thawed if using frozen ones.
2. Cook the Potato Dumplings
In a large saucepan, bring about 8 cups of water to a boil. Add a teaspoon of salt to the boiling water. Carefully add the potato dumplings and cook for about 10 minutes, or until they float to the surface. Once cooked, drain the dumplings and set them aside.
3. Prepare the Tomato Mozzarella Sauce
In a large skillet over medium heat, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Once heated, pour in 2 cups of tomato sauce. Stir in dried basil, garlic powder, and black pepper. Allow the sauce to simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens slightly.
4. Combine Dumplings with Sauce
Add the cooked potato dumplings to the tomato sauce in the skillet. Gently stir to coat all dumplings evenly with the sauce.
5. Add the Mozzarella
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the top of the dumplings in the skillet. Cover the skillet with a lid and reduce the heat to low. Allow the cheese to melt, about 3-5 minutes.
