Heirloom Tomato and Serrano Ham Oven-Toast
Ingredients
- 4 slices of rustic bread
- 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon sherry vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 4 ripe heirloom tomatoes, sliced
- 4 slices of Serrano ham
- 4 slices of prosciutto
- 2 hard-cooked eggs, sliced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Prepare the Bread:
Lay the slices of rustic bread on a baking sheet. Brush each slice with extra-virgin olive oil on both sides.
3. Prepare the Garlic Mixture:
In a small bowl, mix the minced garlic, sherry vinegar, kosher salt, and black pepper. Set aside.
4. Arrange the Ingredients:
Evenly distribute the heirloom tomato slices on top of the bread. Drizzle the garlic mixture over the tomatoes.
5. Add the Ham:
Lay one slice of Serrano ham and one slice of prosciutto over the tomatoes on each piece of bread.
6. Bake:
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the bread is toasted and the ham has slightly crisped.
7. Prepare the Eggs:
While the toasts are baking, slice the hard-cooked eggs into rounds.
8. Assemble and Garnish:
Remove the toasts from the oven. Top each toast with a few slices of hard-cooked egg. Sprinkle with chopped parsley.
9. Serve:
