Indulgent Vanilla Cream Pudding
Ingredients
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
1. Prepare the Ingredients
Begin by gathering all your ingredients. Measure them carefully to ensure the best results.
2. Combine the Wet Ingredients
In a medium saucepan, combine 2 cups of heavy cream and 1 cup of whole milk. Place the saucepan on the stove over medium heat.
3. Mix the Sugar and Salt
Gradually add 1/2 cup of granulated sugar and 1/4 teaspoon of salt to the cream and milk mixture. Stir constantly to help the sugar dissolve evenly.
4. Heat the Mixture
Continue stirring until the mixture begins to steam but has not yet reached a boil. This should take approximately 5 to 7 minutes. Do not let it boil, as boiling will cause the cream to curdle.
5. Add the Vanilla
Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in 2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract until it is fully incorporated.
6. Allow to Thicken
Let the mixture sit for a few minutes to thicken slightly. Stir occasionally as it cools.
7. Chill the Pudding
Pour the pudding into serving dishes and cover each with plastic wrap, pressing it directly against the surface to prevent a skin from forming.
8. Refrigerate
Place the dishes in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to allow the pudding to set properly.
9. Serve and Enjoy
Once set, remove the plastic wrap and serve your indulgent vanilla cream pudding chilled. Garnish with fresh fruit or a sprinkling of cinnamon if desired.
