Irresistible Charcoal Grilled Tandoori Chicken



Ingredients



- 1 cup full-fat yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions



1. Prepare the Marinade:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the full-fat yogurt, lemon juice, garlic powder, oil, turmeric, cayenne pepper, and salt. Whisk together until the mixture is smooth and the spices are fully incorporated.

2. Marinate the Chicken:
- Rinse the chicken breasts and thighs under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
- Place the chicken pieces in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish.
- Pour the prepared marinade over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well coated.
- Seal the bag (if using) and refrigerate for at least two hours to allow the flavors to penetrate the meat. For best results, marinate overnight.

3. Prepare the Charcoal Grill:
- About 30 minutes before you plan to cook, light your charcoal grill. Arrange the charcoal for even heat distribution, aiming for a medium-high heat level.

4. Grill the Chicken:
- Remove the marinated chicken from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature while the grill heats up.
- Once the grill is hot, lightly oil the grill grate to prevent sticking.
