Irresistible Creamy Garlic Bacon Spaghetti
Ingredients
- 8 slices of bacon
- 1 pound of spaghetti
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare the Bacon:
- Place a large skillet over medium heat and add the bacon slices.
- Cook the bacon until crispy, approximately 8 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain and cool. Once cool, crumble the bacon into pieces.
2. Cook the Spaghetti:
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil.
- Add spaghetti and cook until al dente, according to package instructions, approximately 10-12 minutes.
- Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti and set aside.
3. Prepare the Sauce:
- In the same skillet used for the bacon, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring continually.
- Bring the cream to a gentle simmer, then reduce heat to low.
- Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until completely melted and the sauce is smooth.
4. Combine and Serve:
- Add the cooked spaghetti to the sauce in the skillet, tossing to coat all strands evenly.
- If the sauce is too thick, stir in some reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.
- Add crumbled bacon to the pan and toss again.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately, garnished with more Parmesan cheese if desired.
