Irresistible Honey-Garlic Glazed Salmon
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets (approximately 6 oz each)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
1. Prepare the Marinade:
- In a small mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Whisk together until the honey is fully dissolved and the ingredients are well mixed.
2. Marinate the Salmon:
- Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the salmon, ensuring each fillet is well-coated. Cover the dish or seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
3. Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (approximately 200°C).
4. Pan Fry for a Crispy Finish:
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add a small amount of olive oil if needed. Remove the salmon fillets from the marinade (reserve the marinade) and place them in the skillet, skin-side down. Sear for 3 minutes until the skin is crispy and golden brown.
5. Oven Roast the Salmon:
- Transfer the seared salmon fillets to a baking dish, skin-side down. Brush the tops with some of the reserved marinade.
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and roast the salmon for 8-10 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork and is cooked through.
6. Optional - Thicken the Sauce:
- While the salmon roasts, pour the remaining marinade into a small saucepan. Bring it to a simmer over medium heat, reducing it until thickened slightly, about 5 minutes.
7. Serve:
- Remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Drizzle the thickened sauce over the top of the salmon fillets before serving.
