Italian Deli Cavatappi Pasta Salad
Ingredients
- 12 oz cavatappi pasta
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 6 oz salami, sliced into thin strips
- 6 oz provolone cheese, cubed
- 1/2 cup red onion, finely diced
- 2 cups tomatoes, diced
- 2 cups iceberg lettuce, chopped
- 1/2 cup banana pepper rings
- Salt to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Cook the Pasta
- Begin by bringing a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.
- Add the cavatappi pasta and cook according to the package directions until al dente, usually about 8 to 10 minutes.
- Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and rinse under cold water to halt the cooking process and cool the pasta. Let it drain completely.
2. Prepare the Dressing
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, dried Italian seasoning, and Dijon mustard until smooth and well combined.
3. Combine Ingredients
- Add the cooked pasta to the bowl with the dressing. Toss the pasta gently to coat it evenly with the dressing.
- Add the salami, provolone cheese, red onion, tomatoes, iceberg lettuce, and banana pepper rings to the pasta.
- Stir the salad gently until all the ingredients are thoroughly mixed and coated with the dressing.
4. Season the Salad
