Maple Dijon Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Crispy Bacon
Ingredients
- 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
- 4 oz bacon, chopped
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This will ensure the Brussels sprouts roast evenly and become golden brown.
2. Prepare Brussels Sprouts and Bacon
In a large mixing bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts and chopped bacon. Add salt, black pepper, and dried thyme. Toss to mix the ingredients thoroughly.
3. Mix Maple Dijon Glaze
In a small bowl, whisk together the Dijon mustard, maple syrup, and apple cider vinegar until smooth. This sweet and tangy glaze will elevate the flavors of the roasted vegetables.
4. Combine and Coat
Pour the maple Dijon glaze over the Brussels sprouts and bacon mixture. Toss everything well to ensure each piece is coated evenly with the glaze.
5. Roast in the Oven
Spread the coated Brussels sprouts and bacon evenly on a large baking sheet. Place the sheet in the preheated oven and roast for 25-30 minutes until the Brussels sprouts are tender and caramelized, and the bacon is crispy. Halfway through roasting, gently stir the mixture to promote even cooking.
6. Serve
Once cooked, remove the tray from the oven. Let the roasted Brussels sprouts with bacon cool slightly. Serve immediately as a delicious, flavorful snack.
