Melt-In-Your-Mouth Gruyère Mushroom Beef Burgers
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 brioche burger buns
- 8 oz mushrooms, thinly sliced
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 4 slices Gruyère cheese
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 4 cups Caesar salad mix
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
2. Prepare the Patties:
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, sea salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty, ensuring they are slightly larger than the buns to account for shrinkage during cooking.
3. Cook the Vegetables:
Place a skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of oil. Add the sliced onions and mushrooms to the skillet, stirring occasionally, until the onions become translucent and the mushrooms are golden brown, approximately 8-10 minutes. Remove from heat.
4. Oven-Bake the Patties:
Place the patties on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
5. Melt the Cheese:
In the final 2 minutes of cooking the patties, place a slice of Gruyère cheese on each patty so it melts deliciously.
6. Toast the Buns:
While the cheese is melting, split the brioche buns and place them cut-side up on a separate baking sheet. Toast them in the oven for about 3-4 minutes or until they are golden and crispy.
7. Assemble the Burgers:
On the bottom half of each toasted brioche bun, layer a generous portion of the mushroom and onion mixture. Place the cheese-melted patty on top, followed by a portion of the Caesar salad mix. Finally, crown the creation with the top half of the bun.
