Microwave Chicken & Beef Fusion Bowl with Roasted Potatoes
Ingredients
- 2 cups frozen white rice
- 2 frozen raw chicken breasts
- 2 frozen Angus beef chuck patties
- 1 1/2 teaspoons sea salt
- 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper
- 2 cups roasted potatoes
- 2 cups frozen stir-fry starters (contains a mix of vegetables like broccoli, bell peppers, and carrots)
- 1 loaf frozen bread dough (optional)
Instructions
1. Thaw the Protein:
- Place the frozen chicken breasts and frozen Angus beef chuck patties on a microwave-safe plate. Use the microwave's defrost setting to partially thaw the meat. This should take approximately PT10M (10 minutes).
2. Cook the Rice:
- In a microwave-safe bowl, add 2 cups of frozen white rice.
- Add 1/2 cup of water and cover the bowl with a microwave-safe lid or plastic wrap, leaving a small vent.
- Microwave on high for PT7M (7 minutes). Stir halfway through cooking. Let sit for 2 minutes once done to allow the steam to finish cooking the rice.
3. Prepare the Roasted Potatoes:
- Place 2 cups of roasted potatoes on a microwave-safe plate.
- Sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt and 1/2 teaspoon of cracked black pepper.
- Microwave on high for PT5M (5 minutes) or until warmed through.
4. Cook the Chicken:
- Season the partially thawed chicken breasts with 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt and 1/2 teaspoon of cracked black pepper.
- Return to the microwave and cook on high for PT6M (6 minutes), flipping halfway through. Ensure the internal temperature reaches at least 165°F using a food thermometer.
5. Cook the Beef Patties:
- Season each Angus beef patty with the remaining 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt and cracked black pepper.
- Microwave on high for PT5M (5 minutes), flipping once, until they're cooked through with an internal temperature of 160°F.
6. Warm the Stir-Fry Vegetables:
- In a microwave-safe dish, spread out 2 cups of frozen stir-fry starters.
- Cover and microwave on high for PT4M (4 minutes), stirring halfway through.
7. Prepare Bread (Optional):
- If desired, follow the instructions on the frozen bread dough for baking or microwaving the loaf.
8. Assemble the Fusion Bowl:
- In a large bowl, layer the rice on the bottom.
- Slice the cooked chicken breasts and beef patties into strips. Arrange evenly on top of the rice.
- Add the roasted potatoes and stir-fry vegetables.
9. Serve and Enjoy:
- Serve immediately as a quick and hearty dinner dish. OPTION: If bread is prepared, serve slices on the side.
