Microwave Pickling Brine: Quick & Easy Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup vinegar (use white distilled or apple cider vinegar for the best results)
Instructions
1. Prepare Ingredients: Start by gathering your ingredients. You will need 2 cups of water and 1 cup of vinegar. Use a heat-resistant, microwave-safe bowl or container.
2. Combine Ingredients: Pour the water into the microwave-safe container. Add the vinegar to the water, ensuring they are mixed well.
3. Microwave the Mixture: Place the uncovered container in the microwave. Set the microwave to high power and heat the mixture in intervals for optimal results:
- Step 3a: Heat for 2 minutes (PT2M). Remove carefully and stir the mixture.
- Step 3b: Heat for another 2 minutes (PT2M). Ensure the mixture is steaming but not boiling over.
4. Final Stir and Cool: Carefully remove the container from the microwave. Give the brine a final stir to ensure the ingredients are thoroughly combined. Allow the mixture to cool down at room temperature before using it for pickling.
5. Storage: Once cooled, use the pickling brine as needed. Store any unused brine in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
