Microwave Surf and Turf Chorizo Delight
Ingredients
- 1 pound frozen raw EZ-peel tail-on farm-raised white Vannamei shrimp
- 4 ounces homestyle chorizo
- 4 ounces smoked pork chops
- 3 ounces smoked chorizo
- 3 ounces cased homestyle chorizo
- 3 ounces smoked BBQ spicy chorizo
- 8 ounces smoked ribs
Instructions
1. Prepare the Shrimp:
- Thaw the frozen shrimp by placing them under cold running water for about 5 minutes.
- Pat them dry with a paper towel and set aside.
2. Mix the Chorizos:
- Slice the homestyle chorizo, smoked chorizo, cased homestyle chorizo, and smoked BBQ spicy chorizo into 1-inch pieces.
- Combine all the chorizo slices in a large microwave-safe bowl.
3. Add the Pork Chops and Ribs:
- Cut the smoked pork chops and smoked ribs into small, bite-sized pieces.
- Add these to the bowl with the chorizo.
4. Microwaving the Proteins:
- Cover the bowl loosely with a microwave-safe lid or plastic wrap to allow steam to escape.
- Microwave on high for PT5M (5 minutes).
- Stir the mixture to distribute heat evenly, then microwave for another PT5M (5 minutes).
5. Cooking the Shrimp:
- Place thawed shrimp atop the heated mixture, ensuring even coverage.
- Recover the bowl and microwave for PT3M (3 minutes) or until the shrimp turn pink and are fully cooked.
6. Final Stir and Serve:
- Remove the bowl carefully from the microwave and gently stir all ingredients to blend flavors.
- Let the dish rest for 2 minutes before serving, allowing juices to redistribute.
