Mouthwatering Taco Pie with Zesty Toppings
Ingredients
- 1 (9-inch) pie crust
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 large white onion, finely chopped
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 tbsp taco seasoning
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup Colby Jack cheese, shredded
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup salsa
- 2 cups shredded lettuce
- 2 Roma tomatoes, diced
- 1/4 cup sliced black olives
- Lime wedges, for garnish
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add the chopped white onion and sauté for about 4 minutes, until the onion is soft and translucent.
3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook for about 6–8 minutes, until the beef is browned.
4. Drain any excess fat from the skillet, then stir in the taco seasoning and minced garlic. Cook for an additional 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
5. Roll out the pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie dish. Trim and crimp the edges as desired.
6. Evenly distribute the cooked beef mixture into the pie crust. Sprinkle the shredded Colby Jack cheese over the meat.
7. Bake in your preheated oven for 20 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
8. Remove the taco pie from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes.
9. Top the pie with sour cream, spreading evenly. Then layer with salsa, followed by shredded lettuce, diced Roma tomatoes, and sliced black olives.
10. Cut into slices and serve with lime wedges on the side for a fresh, zesty kick.
