Orange-Scented Triple Sec Breakfast Pancakes
Ingredients
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup Triple Sec
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Butter (for greasing the pan)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Wet Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, Triple Sec, orange zest, and orange juice until well combined and frothy.
2. Combine the Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Ensure these dry ingredients are well incorporated to prevent lumps in the batter.
3. Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until you achieve a smooth batter. Be careful not to over-mix as this can result in tough pancakes.
4. Preheat the Pan
Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Add a small amount of butter, allowing it to melt and coat the surface of the pan.
5. Cook the Pancakes
Pour approximately 1/4 cup of the pancake batter onto the heated, buttered pan. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges start to look firm, about 2-3 minutes.
6. Flip and Finish Cooking
Gently flip the pancake and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes or until golden brown on the bottom. Repeat the process, re-greasing the pan when necessary, until all the batter is used.
7. Serve Warm
Serve the pancakes hot and garnish with additional orange zest or a drizzle of warmed Triple Sec if desired. Enjoy!
