Oven-Baked Herb-Crusted Salmon Fillet
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 400°F (205°C) and allow it to preheat while you prepare the salmon fillets.
2. Prepare the Marinade: In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, Dijon mustard, honey, and minced garlic. Mix until smooth and well combined.
3. Season the Salmon: Pat each salmon fillet dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. Lay them skin-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
4. Apply the Marinade: Using a brush or spoon, evenly spread the marinade over the top of each salmon fillet.
5. Add the Herb Crust: In another small bowl, mix together the dried oregano, thyme, rosemary, salt, and black pepper. Sprinkle this herb mixture generously over the marinated top of each salmon fillet, pressing gently to adhere the herbs to the fish.
6. Bake the Salmon: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven. Bake for approximately 12 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
7. Finish and Serve: Remove the salmon from the oven and allow it to rest for a couple of minutes. Serve the fillets with freshly squeezed lemon juice from lemon wedges for a burst of freshness.
