Oven-Baked Pecan Oatmeal Bars
Ingredients
- 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup pecan halves
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Prepare the Baking Dish:
Line a 9x9-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides for easy removal later.
3. Combine Dry Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, all-purpose flour, rolled oats, and salt. Toss to mix evenly.
4. Mix the Wet Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and eggs until well combined.
5. Form the Dough:
Add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients. Stir until the mixture is thoroughly combined and forms a dough.
6. Incorporate Pecans:
Gently fold in the pecan halves, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
7. Press into the Baking Dish:
Transfer the dough into the prepared baking dish. Use a spatula or your hands to press it evenly into the corners and create a smooth surface.
8. Bake the Bars:
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and set.
9. Cool and Slice:
Remove from oven and allow to cool in the dish on a wire rack for at least 15 minutes. Using the parchment overhang, lift the bars out of the dish and cut into squares once completely cool.
