Oven-Roasted Ranch & Pepperoncini Pork Chops with Mozzarella
Ingredients
- 4 boneless pork chops
- 1 packet Au Jus Gravy Mix (1 ounce)
- 1 packet Ranch Dressing Mix (1 ounce)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 6-8 pepperoncini peppers, sliced
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Preheat Your Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (177°C) and allow it to fully preheat while you prepare the ingredients.
2. Prepare the Pork Chops: Rinse the pork chops under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
3. Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a small bowl, combine the Au Jus Gravy Mix and the Ranch Dressing Mix until well blended.
4. Season the Pork Chops: Rub the combined dry mix evenly over both sides of each pork chop, ensuring they are thoroughly coated.
5. Sear the Pork Chops: In a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Once the butter is hot and foamy, add the pork chops, allowing them to sear for about 2-3 minutes on each side until a golden crust forms. Note: The pork chops will finish cooking in the oven.
6. Prepare for Roasting: Roughly chop the pepperoncini peppers and distribute them evenly over the pork chops in the skillet. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter to the skillet.
7. Roast in the Oven: Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and roast for 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the pork chops reaches 145°F (63°C).
8. Add Mozzarella Cheese: Carefully remove the skillet from the oven and sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the pork chops.
9. Melt the Cheese: Return the skillet to the oven and switch to broil for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and slightly golden.
10. Serve and Enjoy: Remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes before serving. Plate with some of the pepperoncini peppers on top and spoon the buttery juices from the skillet over the pork chops for added flavor.
