Oven-Roasted Tomato and Basil Medley
Ingredients
- 6 ripe tomatoes, cut into wedges
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, julienne
- 1 clove garlic, minced
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Prepare the Tomatoes
Cut the tomatoes into evenly sized wedges and place them in a large mixing bowl.
3. Season the Tomatoes
Drizzle the olive oil over the tomato wedges. Add the salt, freshly ground black pepper, and minced garlic. Toss everything together until the tomatoes are well-coated with oil and seasoning.
4. Arrange on Baking Sheet
Arrange the seasoned tomato wedges in a single layer on a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
5. Roast the Tomatoes
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven. Roast the tomatoes for approximately 30-35 minutes, or until they become tender and slightly caramelized around the edges. Stir halfway through for even roasting.
6. Add Fresh Basil
Remove the tomatoes from the oven and transfer them to a serving dish. Sprinkle the julienned basil over the roasted tomatoes while they are still warm. Toss gently to combine.
7. Serve
Serve the oven-roasted tomato and basil medley as a delightful side dish or incorporate it as a part of a main course.
