Pan-Fried Lemon Paprika Chicken



Ingredients



- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 6 oz each)
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 lemon, zested and juiced

Instructions



1. Prepare the Chicken: Place the chicken breasts on a clean surface. Use a sharp knife to carefully fillet any particularly thick areas for even cooking. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels.

2. Season the Chicken: In a small bowl, combine 1 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, and 1 teaspoon paprika. Sprinkle this seasoning mix evenly on both sides of the chicken breasts.

3. Heat the Pan: Place a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Allow the oil to heat until shimmering but not smoking.

4. Cook the Chicken: Add the chicken breasts to the hot pan. Cook for about 5 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.

5. Infuse the Garlic: In the same pan, lower the heat to medium. Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil and the minced garlic. Sauté the garlic for about 1 minute until it becomes fragrant.

6. Add Lemon Zest and Juice: Stir in the lemon zest and juice, gently scraping any brown bits from the bottom of the pan for added flavor. Let the mixture simmer for about 2 minutes.

7. Finish the Dish: Return the chicken to the pan. Baste the chicken with the lemon garlic sauce using a spoon. Let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

8. Serve: Transfer the chicken to a serving platter and drizzle with any remaining sauce from the pan. Optionally, garnish with additional lemon slices and a sprinkle of fresh parsley for color.
