Ingredients
- 8 slices sourdough bread
- 4 oz sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 4 oz Gruyère cheese, grated
- 4 tbsp mayonnaise
- 4 tbsp hot honey
Instructions
1. Prepare the Bread:
- Lay out the sourdough slices on a clean surface.
- Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
2. Assemble the Sandwiches:
- Place approximately 1 oz of sharp cheddar cheese on the mayonnaise side of four bread slices.
- Top the cheddar with 1 oz of Gruyère cheese.
- Drizzle 1 tablespoon of hot honey over the cheese layers evenly.
- Close the sandwiches with the remaining four slices of sourdough, with the mayonnaise side facing outward.
3. Pan Fry the Sandwiches:

- Remove sandwiches from the skillet once both sides are golden and crisp.
- Let cool slightly before slicing and serving for optimal cheese ooze.
