Patriotic Layered Jello Cake Delight
Ingredients
- 1 box white cake mix
- 1 package cherry jello (3 oz)
- 1 package blueberry jello (3 oz)
- 2 cups boiling water
- 1 cup cold water
- 1 container whipped topping (16 oz), thawed
- 2 tablespoons red sprinkles
- 2 tablespoons white sprinkles
- 2 tablespoons blue sprinkles
Instructions
1. Prepare Cake Mix:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Prepare the cake mix according to the package instructions using the prescribed amount of eggs, oil, and water.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9x13-inch baking pan and bake as directed for approximately 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
2. Prepare Jello Layers:
- Once baked, let the cake cool for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, dissolve the cherry jello in 1 cup of boiling water, stirring until fully dissolved. Add 1/2 cup cold water and mix well.
- Repeat the process for the blueberry jello with the remaining 1 cup boiling water and 1/2 cup cold water.
3. Layering the Cake:
- Using a fork, poke holes all over the cooled cake, about 1 inch apart.
- Pour the cherry jello evenly over half of the cake, ensuring the jello seeps into the holes. Repeat with the blueberry jello for the other half.
- Cover the cake and refrigerate for at least 2 hours for the jello to set.
4. Whipped Topping & Decoration:
- Spread the thawed whipped topping evenly over the entire cake.
- Decorate with red, white, and blue sprinkles for a festive look.
