Perfect Charcoal-Grilled Vegan Burgers



Ingredients


- 4 Dr. Praeger’s Perfect Burgers
- 4 burger buns
- 4 slices of vegan cheese
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
- 4 tablespoons vegan mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions


1. Prep the Grill
- Begin by lighting your charcoal grill, allowing the coals to reach a nice even glow. As this may take some time, proceed with preparing other ingredients while the grill heats up to medium-high.

2. Prepare the Buns and Veggies
- Slice the burger buns in half and brush the insides lightly with olive oil. Add a sprinkle of salt and pepper.
- Prepare the toppings by arranging shredded lettuce, tomato slices, and red onion slices on a platter for easy assembly later.

3. Mix the Sauce
- In a small bowl, mix 4 tablespoons of vegan mayonnaise with 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard. Stir until well combined and set aside.

4. Grill the Burgers
- Once the grill is ready (indicated by white ash forming on the charcoal), place the Dr. Praeger’s Perfect Burgers directly on the grill grates. Cook for approximately 4 minutes per side, or until they develop a nice charred pattern and are heated throughout. Time: PT8M, 8 minutes.

5. Toast the Buns
- During the last minute of grilling, place the oiled side of the buns on the edge of the grill, away from direct heat, to toast them lightly.

6. Melt the Cheese
- In the final 30 seconds on the grill, top each burger with a slice of vegan cheese so that it starts to melt slightly.

7. Assemble the Burgers
- Spread the mayonnaise-mustard mixture on the toasted sides of each bun. Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a grilled burger with melted cheese. Top with tomato and onion slices. Complete with the top bun.

8. Serve and Enjoy
- Serve immediately with your choice of sides. Enjoy the perfect blend of smoky grill flavors and fresh toppings.
