Perfectly Broiled Honey Garlic Salmon
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets (approximately 6 ounces each)
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
1. Prepare the Marinade:
In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, lemon juice, and olive oil. Whisk until the honey is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
2. Marinate the Salmon:
Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the salmon, ensuring each fillet is fully coated. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes. For better flavor infusion, marinate for up to 1 hour.
3. Prepare to Broil:
Preheat your oven's broiler on high and position the rack approximately 6 inches from the heat source. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup and lightly grease it with olive oil.
4. Season and Arrange:
Remove the salmon from the marinade and place the fillets skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle the tops with salt and pepper. Discard the remaining marinade.
5. Broil the Salmon:
Insert the baking sheet into the oven and broil the salmon for 6-8 minutes, or until the fillets are cooked through and the tops are caramelized. Be cautious of the salmon's thickness as it may affect cooking time. The salmon should be opaque and flake easily with a fork.
6. Serve and Enjoy:
Carefully remove the salmon from the oven. Let it rest for 2-3 minutes before serving. Serve the salmon with your choice of sides such as steamed vegetables or a fresh garden salad. Garnish with a slice of lemon if desired.
