Perfectly Grilled Herb-Butter Beef Steaks for Dinner
Ingredients
- 4 beef steaks, about 6 oz. each
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare the Herb Butter:
- In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, rosemary, thyme, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- Transfer the herb butter mixture onto a piece of plastic wrap. Roll it into a log shape, wrap tightly, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to solidify.
2. Prepare the Steaks:
- Remove the steaks from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature, about 30 minutes.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (approximately 375°F to 450°F).
- Pat the steaks dry with paper towels, then season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
3. Grill the Steaks:
- Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
- Place the seasoned steaks on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting time depending on your preferred doneness. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 130°F for medium-rare.
- During the last minute of grilling, add a slice of herb butter on top of each steak and allow it to melt, enhancing the beef's flavor.
4. Rest the Steaks and Serve:
- Remove the steaks from the grill and allow them to rest for 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in a juicier steak.
