Pineapple Cheese Crunch Hot Dog Delight
Ingredients
- 4 hot dogs
- 4 hot dog buns
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 cup white cheese, shredded (such as Monterey Jack or mozzarella)
- 2/3 cup pineapple, finely diced
- 1 cup potato chips, crushed
Instructions
1. Prepare the Hot Dogs
- Place a non-stick skillet on the stove over medium heat.
- Add the hot dogs and cook for approximately PT5M (5 minutes), turning occasionally until browned and heated through. Remove from heat and set aside.
2. Mix the Sauce
- In a small bowl, combine the ketchup, mayonnaise, and lime juice. Stir until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
3. Toast the Buns
- In the same skillet, set over medium heat, place the hot dog buns cut side down.
- Toast for PT2M (2 minutes) until they are golden brown and slightly crispy. Remove from heat.
4. Assemble the Hot Dogs
- Place a hot dog in each bun.
- Drizzle the prepared sauce generously over the hot dogs.
- Sprinkle the shredded white cheese evenly over each hot dog.
- Add the finely diced pineapple on top of the cheese.
- Finish by sprinkling a layer of crushed potato chips over the pineapple for a delightful crunch.
5. Melt the Cheese (Optional)
- If you prefer melted cheese, return the assembled hot dogs to the skillet, cover, and cook on low heat for PT3M (3 minutes) until the cheese is melty.
6. Serve Immediately
