Refreshing Basil Pasta Salad with Zesty Vinaigrette



Ingredients


- 8 oz pasta (any preferred type, such as penne or fusilli)
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tbsp white wine vinegar
- 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions


1. Cook the Pasta
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Add 8 oz of your preferred pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente, approximately PT10M (10 minutes).
- Drain the pasta and rinse it under cold water to stop the cooking process. Set aside to cool.

2. Prepare the Dressing
- In a small bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup olive oil and 2 tbsp white wine vinegar.
- Season the dressing with salt and pepper to taste.

3. Assemble the Salad
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled pasta and 1/2 cup chopped fresh basil leaves.
- Drizzle the prepared dressing over the pasta and basil.
- Toss gently to ensure the pasta is evenly coated with the dressing.

4. Let the Salad Rest
- Allow the salad to sit at room temperature for PT5M (5 minutes) to let the flavors meld together.
- Serve immediately or chill in the refrigerator for a more refreshing taste.
