Refreshing Cantaloupe and Cucumber Tajín Snack
Ingredients
- 1 medium cantaloupe
- 1 large cucumber
- 1 tablespoon Tajín seasoning
- Zest of 1 lime
- Juice of 1 lime
Instructions
1. Prepare Cantaloupe:
- Slice the cantaloupe in half and scoop out the seeds.
- Use a melon baller or a knife to cut the cantaloupe into bite-sized cubes.
2. Prepare Cucumber:
- Peel the cucumber, leaving a few strips of skin for added texture and color.
- Slice the cucumber into rounds or half-moons, about 1/4 inch thick.
3. Blend Lime Zest and Juice:
- In a small saucepan, combine the lime zest and lime juice.
- Warm the mixture over low heat on the stove for about 2 minutes (PT2M) to allow flavors to meld.
- Remove from the heat and let it cool for a moment.
4. Combine and Season:
- In a large bowl, combine the cantaloupe cubes and cucumber slices.
- Pour the slightly warm lime zest and juice mixture over the fruits.
- Sprinkle Tajín seasoning evenly over everything. Toss gently to ensure all pieces are coated.
5. Chill and Serve:
- Transfer the seasoned fruit mixture to the refrigerator.
- Allow to chill for at least 10 minutes (PT10M) to let the flavors develop and the fruit cool.
- Serve chilled as a refreshing snack.
