Refreshing Oven-Baked Gin and Tonic Lime Ice Snack
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup gin
- 1 cup tonic water
- 2 limes, freshly squeezed
- 1 lime, thinly sliced for garnish
- 1 cup ice cubes
Instructions
1. Prepare the Citrus Base
- Preheat your oven to 250°F (121°C).
- In a small pot, combine the gin and tonic water. Stir in the freshly squeezed lime juice.
- Heat on the stovetop over low heat just until warm, about 3 minutes. This will help meld the flavors without evaporating the alcohol. Do not boil.
2. Oven Infusion
- Transfer the warmed gin and tonic mixture to an oven-safe dish.
- Arrange lime slices in the dish to infuse more citrus flavor into the mixture.
- Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 1 hour (PT1H) to allow the core ingredients to meld further and slightly concentrate.
3. Cool and Freeze
- Once baked, remove the dish from the oven and let it cool to room temperature.
- Fill an ice cube tray with the cooled mixture and place it in the freezer. Freeze until solid, approximately 3 hours (PT3H).
4. Assemble Snack
- Once frozen, remove the gin tonic ice cubes from the tray.
- Serve the cubes in a chilled glass or small bowl.
5. Garnish and Enjoy
- Garnish with additional lime slices for a refreshing presentation.
- Serve immediately as a refreshing, gourmet snack.
