Rich Cream Sauce Ravioli Delight
Ingredients
- 1 lb store-bought or homemade cheese ravioli
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup reserved pasta cooking water
Instructions
1. Prepare the Ravioli:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the cheese ravioli to the boiling water and cook according to package directions, typically about 4-5 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. Once cooked, use a slotted spoon to transfer the ravioli to a plate and reserve 1/4 cup of the pasta cooking water.
2. Make the Cream Sauce:
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once the butter has melted and is slightly foamy, add the softened cream cheese. Stir continuously until the cream cheese is fully melted and smooth.
3. Season the Sauce:
Add the salt and freshly ground black pepper to the cream sauce. Stir to incorporate the seasonings evenly.
4. Combine Ravioli and Sauce:
Add the cooked ravioli to the skillet with the cream sauce. Gently toss the ravioli to coat them in the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, gradually add the reserved pasta cooking water, a tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.
5. Serve:
Divide the ravioli evenly among four plates. Garnish with additional black pepper if desired and serve immediately.
