Sautéed Garlic Shrimp with White Wine and Parsley
Ingredients
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 cup white wine
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare the Ingredients:
Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Mince the garlic and chop the fresh parsley.
2. Heat the Pan:
In a large, non-stick skillet, combine the butter and olive oil over medium-high heat. Allow the butter to melt completely, which should take about 1-2 minutes.
3. Sauté the Shrimp:
Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Sprinkle with salt and black pepper to taste. Cook for 2 minutes on one side, then flip them over.
4. Add Garlic and Red Pepper Flakes:
Immediately add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Stir everything together and cook for another 2 minutes, until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook.
5. Deglaze with White Wine:
Pour in the white wine, allowing it to bubble and help scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Simmer for 1-2 minutes until the wine is mostly reduced.
6. Finish with Parsley:
Off the heat, add the freshly chopped parsley. Stir to combine and coat the shrimp in the flavorful sauce.
7. Serve:
Transfer the sautéed shrimp to a serving platter and enjoy hot. Optionally, serve with crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
