Sauteed Trio of Celery, Onion, and Carrot Medley
Ingredients
- 3 celery stalks, finely chopped
- 1 medium onion, finely diced
- 2 medium carrots, peeled and thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Vegetables:
Wash and trim 3 celery stalks, 1 medium onion, and 2 medium carrots. Finely chop the celery, dice the onion, and thinly slice the carrots, ensuring uniform size for even cooking.
2. Heat the Oil:
Place a large skillet over medium heat and pour in 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Allow it to heat until it shimmers, indicating it's ready for sautéing.
3. Sauté the Vegetables:
Add the chopped celery, diced onion, and sliced carrots to the skillet. Stir gently to coat them evenly with oil.
4. Season and Cook:
Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/4 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper, and 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder over the vegetables. Continue to sauté, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender and slightly caramelized.
5. Garnish and Serve:
Remove the skillet from heat. Transfer the sautéed vegetables to a serving dish. Optionally, garnish with 1 tablespoon of freshly chopped parsley for added flavor and color before serving.
