Savory Miso Green Bean Casserole Delight
Ingredients
- 2 cans green beans (14.5 oz each), drained
- 1 can condensed mushroom soup (10.5 oz)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon white miso paste
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup fried onions, divided
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures even cooking and a perfectly baked casserole.
2. Prepare the Casserole Mixture:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the condensed mushroom soup and 1/2 cup of milk. Whisk together until smooth and well combined.
- Add the soy sauce, white miso paste, and black pepper to the soup mixture. Stir until the miso is fully dissolved and the mixture is homogenous.
- Carefully fold in the drained green beans and half of the fried onions (1/2 cup). Mix until the green beans are well-coated with the creamy sauce.
3. Assemble the Casserole:
- Transfer the green bean mixture into a standard 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
- Sprinkle the remaining fried onions over the top of the bean mixture. This layer of fried onions will create a crispy, golden crust as it bakes.
4. Bake:
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven. Bake for about 25 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the top is golden brown.
5. Cool and Serve:
- Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken slightly.
