Savory Pan-Fried Beef Patties
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
1. Prepare the Patty Mixture:
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix well using your hands until all ingredients are thoroughly combined. Avoid overmixing to keep patties tender.
2. Shape the Patties:
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, each about 1/2 inch thick. Make a slight indent in the center of each patty to ensure even cooking.
3. Preheat the Pan:
Heat olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Ensure the oil is hot but not smoking to achieve a nice sear on the patties.
4. Pan-Fry the Patties:
Carefully place the patties in the skillet. Fry them for about 4 minutes on each side, or until a golden-brown crust forms and the internal temperature reaches 160°F. Adjust the heat if necessary to avoid burning.
5. Rest and Serve:
Transfer the cooked patties to a plate and let them rest for a few minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
