Savory Stove-Top Garlic Butter Rice with Umami Sauce



Ingredients



- 1 cup white rice
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 teaspoons Maggi sauce
- 2 cups water

Instructions



1. Prepare the Rice:
Rinse 1 cup of white rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.

2. Cook the Rice:
Combine the rinsed rice and 2 cups of water in a medium-sized saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for PT18M (18 minutes) or until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.

3. Prepare the Sauce:
In a small bowl, mix together 3 tablespoons of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of fish sauce, 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar, and 2 teaspoons of Maggi sauce. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved and set aside.

4. Sauté the Garlic:
While the rice is cooking, melt 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 3 minced garlic cloves and sauté for PT1M (1 minute), stirring constantly until the garlic is fragrant and golden brown.

5. Combine and Serve:
Add the cooked rice into the skillet with the sautéed garlic. Gently stir the rice to coat it with the butter and garlic evenly. Pour the prepared umami sauce over the rice, mix well to ensure the rice is well-coated.

6. Final Touch:
Cook the garlic butter rice mixture over medium heat for an additional PT3M (3 minutes), stirring occasionally until the flavors are well combined and the rice is heated through. Serve immediately, garnished with any desired toppings like chopped green onions or sesame seeds for extra flavor and presentation.
