- 4 slices of rustic bread
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon flaky sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
1. Prepare the Spiced Mayo:
- In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, 1/4 teaspoon paprika, and a pinch of black pepper. Mix thoroughly until well-blended. Set aside.
2. Toast the Bread:
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the skillet.
- Once the oil is hot, place the 4 slices of rustic bread in the skillet. Toast each side for about 2 minutes until each side is golden brown and crispy. Remove and place on a serving plate.
3. Assemble the Tartine:
- Spread a generous layer of the spiced mayo on each toasted slice of bread.
- Arrange the sliced tomatoes evenly across the bread slices.
- Sprinkle the tomatoes with flaky sea salt and the remaining black pepper for additional flavor.
4. Serve:
- Optionally, garnish the tartines with a small sprinkle of extra paprika for a touch of color.
- Serve immediately while the bread is still warm for the best taste and texture.
