Savory Surf and Turf Stir-Fry with Creamy Bacon Sauce



Ingredients



- 1/2 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 1 cup potatoes, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup crab meat
- 4 strips bacon, chopped
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup cream cheese
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 cup lettuce, shredded
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: 1 apple, thinly sliced for garnish
- Optional: 1/4 cup grapes, for garnish
- Optional: Crushed wonton chips, for topping

Instructions



1. Prepare Ingredients:
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy, about 5 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside on a paper towel-lined plate.
- Leave 2 tablespoons of bacon fat in the skillet and add butter, melting it completely.

2. Stir-Fry Vegetables:
- Add the onions and potatoes to the skillet with the bacon fat and butter. Stir-fry for approximately 8 minutes until the potatoes start to soften and the onions become translucent.
- Add the bell pepper and continue to stir-fry for another 3 minutes.

3. Cook Proteins:
- Push the vegetables to the side of the skillet. Add the ground beef to the cleared space and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
- Add the shrimp and crab meat, stirring everything together. Cook for an additional 3 minutes until the shrimp are pink and opaque.

4. Make the Sauce:
- Reduce the heat to low, add the cream cheese and brown sugar, stirring until melted and blended, about 2 minutes.
- Season the entire mix with salt and pepper to taste.

5. Finish Dish:
- Stir in half of the crispy bacon and shredded lettuce, cooking for 1 more minute until the lettuce starts to wilt.
- Garnish with remaining bacon, sliced apples, grapes, and crushed wonton chips if desired. Serve hot.
