Scrumptious Cinnamon Matzo French Toast
Ingredients
- 4 large Matzo crackers
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Instructions
1. Prepare the egg mixture:
- In a shallow dish, whisk together 2 large eggs, 1/2 cup milk, and 1/4 cup water until well blended.
- Add 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and 1/4 teaspoon of kosher salt. Whisk until the sugar and cinnamon are fully dissolved.
2. Soak the Matzo crackers:
- Immerse each Matzo cracker in the egg mixture individually, allowing it to soak for about 30 seconds on each side to ensure the crackers absorb the flavors fully.
3. Heat the pan:
- Place a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter and allow it to melt, coating the bottom of the skillet evenly.
4. Fry the Matzo:
- Once the butter is foamy, carefully place the soaked Matzo crackers into the skillet. Cook each side for approximately 3-4 minutes or until the surface is golden brown and crispy.
5. Serve immediately:
- Remove from the skillet and place on a serving platter. Serve the Cinnamon Matzo French Toast warm with your choice of toppings, such as a drizzle of honey, maple syrup, or a dusting of powdered sugar.
