Sizzling Butter and Olive Oil Infused Linguine
Ingredients
- 8 oz Linguine pasta
- 3 tbsp Unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup Fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, freshly ground, to taste
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
1. Prepare Pasta:
Fill a large pot with water and bring to a boil over high heat. Add a generous amount of salt once boiling. Add the linguine and cook according to the package instructions until al dente, typically around PT10M to PT12M. Drain the pasta, reserving 1 cup of the cooking water, and set aside.
2. Infuse Flavor:
While the pasta cooks, heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the olive oil and butter, allowing the butter to melt and begin to foam. Once foaming, add the minced garlic and sauté for about PT1M, until fragrant but not browned. If using, add the crushed red pepper flakes and stir for another PT30S.
3. Combine Ingredients:
Add the drained linguine to the skillet, tossing it in the garlic-infused butter and oil. Gradually stir in 1/4 cup of the reserved pasta water, ensuring the pasta stays moist. Continue to toss for about PT3M until the pasta is well-coated and all the flavors meld together.
4. Finish the Dish:
Remove the skillet from heat. Add the grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley, tossing until evenly distributed. If the pasta seems dry, add more reserved pasta water, a tablespoon at a time, to reach the desired consistency. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
5. Serve:
Divide the linguine evenly among four plates. Serve with lemon wedges on the side for an added burst of freshness.
