Sizzling Skillet Beef and Potato Hash

Ingredients

- 3 tablespoons canola oil
- 2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 3 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
- 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

1. Prepare the Vegetables
Begin by dicing the Yukon Gold potatoes and chopping the onion and red bell pepper. Set these aside for later use.

2. Brown the Potatoes
Heat 2 tablespoons of canola oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced potatoes in a single layer. Cook, stirring occasionally, for approximately PT15M (15 minutes) or until they start to brown and become tender. Remove the potatoes from the skillet and set aside.

3. Cook the Beef
In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of canola oil. Add the ground beef and cook over medium heat, breaking it into small pieces with a wooden spoon. Cook for about PT10M (10 minutes) until the beef is brown and cooked through.

4. Sauté Onion and Pepper
Add the chopped onion and red bell pepper to the skillet. Sauté them with the beef for PT5M (5 minutes) until the onion becomes translucent and the pepper softens.

5. Combine Ingredients
Return the browned potatoes to the skillet. Mix them well with the beef, onions, and peppers.

6. Add Seasonings and Sauces
Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, liquid smoke, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, dried oregano, kosher salt, and ground black pepper. Mix until all the components are well-coated with the sauce.

7. Final Cook and Garnish
Let the mixture cook together for another PT5M (5 minutes), allowing the flavors to meld. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
