Smoky Barbecue Chicken Breasts with Melted Gouda and Green Onions



Ingredients



- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 cup smoked gouda cheese, shredded
- 3 green onions, finely chopped

Instructions



1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Prepare the Chicken:
Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides of each breast with salt and pepper.

3. Apply Barbecue Sauce:
Place the chicken breasts in a baking dish. Pour the barbecue sauce evenly over the top of the chicken breasts, ensuring they are thoroughly coated.

4. Bake the Chicken:
Transfer the baking dish to the preheated oven. Bake the chicken for 25 minutes.

7. Garnish with Green Onions:
Once the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is melted, remove the dish from the oven. Sprinkle the finely chopped green onions over the top for a fresh garnish.

Let the chicken rest for a few minutes. Serve the chicken breasts with your choice of sides, such as roasted vegetables or a green salad.
