Spicy Sautéed Avocado Salsa
Ingredients
- 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 jalapeños, seeded and finely diced
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 3 ripe avocados, diced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare the Ingredients:
Begin by washing all fresh produce. Chop the tomatoes, onions, and jalapeños into small, even pieces. Chop the cilantro and set aside. Dice the avocados last to keep them fresh.
2. Sauté the Vegetables:
Heat the olive oil in a medium skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and jalapeños to the skillet. Sauté for approximately 3-4 minutes, or until the onions become translucent and the jalapeños are slightly soft.
3. Add Tomatoes to the Skillet:
Stir in the chopped tomatoes and let the mixture cook for an additional 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
4. Combine with Avocados:
Remove the skillet from heat. Gently fold in the diced avocados to the sautéed mixture, ensuring even coating and mixing with the other ingredients.
5. Season and Add Fresh Herbs:
Add lime juice, chopped cilantro, salt, and pepper to taste. Mix thoroughly to combine all flavors.
6. Serve and Enjoy:
Serve immediately as a snack or appetizer with your choice of tortilla chips or as a topping for grilled foods.
