Spicy Stir-Fried Beef with Garlic and Chili Oil
Ingredients
- 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon chili oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Sichuan peppercorns
- 2 red chili peppers, thinly sliced
Instructions
1. Prepare the Ingredients:
Slice the beef sirloin thinly, ensuring all pieces are uniform for even cooking. Mince the garlic and slice the red chili peppers. Set aside.
2. Heating the Oil:
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the Sichuan peppercorns and toast them for about 1 minute until they release their aroma, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
3. Infuse the Garlic and Chili Oil:
Add the minced garlic and chili oil to the skillet with the peppercorns. Stir for another 30 seconds, keeping the heat under control to avoid overcooking. This will ensure the flavors are well-infused.
4. Cook the Beef:
Increase the heat to high and add the thinly sliced beef to the skillet. Stir frequently, cooking for about 4-5 minutes until the beef is seared on the outside but remains tender.
5. Incorporate the Chili Peppers:
Add the sliced red chili peppers to the beef. Continue cooking and stirring for another 2 minutes. Adjust the seasoning if necessary, considering your spice preference.
6. Finish and Serve:
Once everything is well combined and cooked through, remove from heat and serve immediately. This dish pairs wonderfully with steamed rice or noodles.
